Poor Quality Tweed and Very Poorly Finished Review by William Luke: Overall Rating:

I looked for some considerable time for a Harris Tweed Jacket before deciding to buy this one. Having made the decision I waited eagerly for its arrival. It arrived quickly; withing a couple of days and the fit was excellent. That was about it. There were flaws in the tweed; stitching was unfinished and hanging loose and the tweed itself was thin lacking the substance that I associate with Harris Tweed. I returned the jacket for a full refund and purchased a different jacket from Edinburgh Woolen Mill. My jacket from EWM is excellent and makes this jacket from Brook Taverner look very cheap. I am at a loss to understand how anyone can give this jacket five stars. I would add that customer services were helpful and very apologetic about the jacket and my refund arrived reasonably quickly.

When a chap gets to a certain age he begins to appreciate the finer things in life, whisky of a certain age, Newcastle Brown Ale, blue cheese, ect. and a Tweed jacket. I have just recieved mine and its fantastic. It goes with jeans T shirts and proper shirts and feels comfy. Next step a pipe.

I ordered this jacket for my husband as a Christmas present. It arrived promptly and well packaged (it also comes with a good quality hanger and a jacket cover). I knew it would be too small as it was a great fit on my son (I think he was hoping I would give it to him, he thought it was fantastic). I rang Brook Taverner and the person I spoke to was extremely helpful, as it was only 10 days to Christmas. Got everything sorted and the larger size jacket arrived in time for Christmas. I would certainly use Brook Taverner again and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I have long desired a quality Harris tweed jacket just like my Grandad used to wear in the !960s. This looked like it might just fit the bill. It does and I wear the jacket with some nostalgia but overall the garment is beautifully tailored and a quality item. Highly recommended.

First purchase of clothing on-line although had tried a similar Brooks Taverner jacket on in a shop. Cut is generous so went down on size from my normal. Arrived promptly, very well packed and accompanies by a good hanger and travel bag.

This is one of those jackets that just feels right; as always with Harris Tweed a crisp fabric which carries the tailoring and looks wonderful. Has quickly become my favourate jacket, great with jeans but versatile enough for smarter wear. Very reasonable price too!

Jacket arrived within estimated time-frame, delivered by personal courier. First impression, what a beautiful jacket and the solid wood hanger, the finest I've seen plus a good quality travel bag. Also the all important prepaid return slip.

Somewhat puzzled by the stitched up pockets, until my seamstress wife put me right.

All in all, a very satisfying purchase worn with pride.

I bought this jacket knowing that it would have to be tailored (I've bought jackets from Brook Taverner before and find they're always too generous on my slim frame) but at that price, for a genuine Harris Tweed, it was a fantastic purchase. Beautiful material and tailoring, proper leather buttons on the front and cuffs and hung on a mahogany hanger to complete the package.
