I have always wanted a Harris Tweed Jacket and this jacket completely fulfills my expectations. The cloth is rustic, is woven with beautifully natural colours finely tailored into a classic contemporary style. I ordered a 42R which is just slightly oversize (I naturally fall between sizes) but I want to be able to wear a roll neck jumper under it so it is almost perfect. The red lining is a stunning contrast with the deep natural tones and red/black lines in the cloth.
Tha jacket is warm and practical but also very stylish. I was going to order the matching waistcoat but felt the red silky back (same as jacket lining) was not versatile/casual enough when worn without the jacket, had this been a green or black I would have also purchased this, shame as it looks great with the jacket.
This is a magnificent Harris Tweed jacket - the fabric quite unlike any other supposed "tweed". As such it has a semi-rugged appearance. Probably not first choice for a very formal occasion but excellent for smart casual wear, and certainly for striding through Scottish glens. It is beautifully made with some nice touches like the vivid red lining depicting the Western Isles, and with a little bag of spare buttons stitched into it. Colour-wise it is more greenish (and darker) than the photo suggests and the check pattern a little less prominent than depicted. Fit (40 long) is as expected these days (a bit more "tailored-fit" than "classic" and so if you intend to wear the featured waistcoat as well you might need to consider a size bigger than usual). It is a standout jacket, should last for years, and as usual with Brook Taverner, being sold at an excellent price, and first class customer care.
Just what I’d alwYs wanted
Very nice material and style.
Excellent Harris Tweed suit jacket.
Fantastic tweed. The wool is as expected, nothing short of excellent. The red lining is stunning. excellent eye on the detail. Pockets, pocket square.
Will enjoy wearing the suit jacket in the Highlands.
Very nice Harris tweed jacket will work well with jeans or more formal trousers as required.

Almost exactly what I was hoping for from a Harris Tweed jacket, and at a price which represented very good value for money. The cut was perhaps not as generous as I would have wished. I used my normal size, but there was not much room for a merino sweater underneath.
