SLIM FIT SHIRTS

Confidence Begins With Your Shirt

Remember the days of billowy, oversized shirts? We’d all like to forget them. Today’s sleek styling calls for a sharper, closer cut, one that fits your body with a modern silhouette without giving away any unnecessary secrets or restricting movement. Whatever your build, a slim fit shirt can help you look more polished, crisp and ready to tackle the world. Here’s some details on what to look for.

Shirt Collar and Shoulder Seams

The fit of your shirt collar doesn’t change with the fit. It should always allow for one finger between the neck and the collar when the shirt is fully buttoned. The shoulder seam should rest right on the corner of your shoulder bone.

Slim Fit Shirt Sleeve Length

Although the sleeve of a slim fit shirt is more closely tapered than the tailored fit, it should never be tight enough to see the details of your arm. Bending your arm should not cause your cuff to move up your wrist more than an inch. Like the tailored fit, the shirt cuff should rest where your palm meets your wrist. This fit naturally slims through the sleeve to the cuff and is designed to give you a sharper, closer fitting silhouette.

Slim Fit Shirt Torso

The midsection of your shirt is one of the most important areas. When it fits properly you’ll still look polished, even when your suit jacket is removed. For the slim fit, the chest and waist are much more streamlined, contouring closer to the body than the tailored fit to give you our closest fitting silhouette. However, because the rest of the shirt shares the exact same comfortable dimensions as our tailored fit, it should never feel restrictive or cause the buttons to pull. If you can pull more than 1 to 2 inches of fabric away from your body, the shirt is too loose for a true slim fit.
