Useful thing to have, a plain linen waistcoat.
Looks good with the matching jacket, or, as I have found, a mid-grey-, and a black suit.
Hides that bit of rumpled shirt above the belt line, keeps your tie out of the soup... and makes you look an awful lot

Too short and they don’t do a long version. Us tall folk are severely disadvantaged when buying some items. Not all men with a 48inch chest are short and fat. Some is us are tall and fat with a long back!
